Mr. Allan H. Nakata has been in the industry for more than 40 years. He is a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) in which he consults with large and small businesses in Hawaii as well as in the Mainland. Because of his vast knowledge in both Estate and Financial Planning, he was asked to be the Financial Editor for the “Dream Team” on the highly rated television show, “The Silent Majority”, which aired for four years on the Fox network.
He is a graduate of the Agency Management Training Council (AMTC), one of the most respected programs for managers in our industry, and also holds designations as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Registered Health Underwriter (RHU).
As the 1992 health chairman for the National Association of Life Underwriters, he represented Hawaii in Washington D.C. on issues of health and long-term care.
He was also invited to be on the task force during the 1999 legislation session, which introduced and passed Bill #1158 regarding managed care for the state of Hawaii.
Mr. Nakata has conducted numerous seminars for Seniors, businesses and unions, including Medicaid and Elder Law specific seminars designed for attorneys and other legal staff, CPAs, accountants, estate and financial planners, nursing home administrators, and case managers.
In 2007, Mr. Nakata was awarded the National Leadership Award from Washington DC, an award which recognizes individuals throughout the nation who have made a significant contribution to their state. He was also appointed Honorary Chairman for the Business Advisory Council by the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Mr. Nakata was invited to speak at the GAMA LAMP (Leadership and Management Program) annual conference which is attended by leaders worldwide, and has co-authored two books, “Elder Law in Hawaii” and "Elder Law and Medicaid in Hawaii" with attorney, Thomas Rulon.
